An accomplished businessman and veteran of the energy technology industry, Ted Venners currently works with multi-industrial networking specialists The Prometheus Group out of its headquarters in Hong Kong and Beijing. Born in Germany, Ted Venners has pursued business ventures around the globe, including extensive projects in fossil fuel extraction and development in the United States. He previously owned a natural gas pipeline in Texas and owned and operated a coal mine in Wyoming and a real estate development firm in South Dakota.

Venners has executive experience as the founder of KFx Inc., a clean-burning fuel technology firm that emerged out of his work with the Fort Union Mine Partnership. He has also served as Chairman to C. Lock Technologies and as a member of the Board of Directors for Northwestern Engineering Company. Venners was appointed as a charter member to the National Coal Council by President Reagan.

An experienced energy-sector professional, Ted Venners is also the Chairman and Managing Director of the U.S. and China-based Coal Team Ltd. Born in Germany, Ted Venners launched his successful American career by founding the Ft. Union Coal Mine in 1979.

Throughout the 1980s, Mr. Venners helped to shape American energy policy as he worked in the private sector. In 1981, he became a charter member of the National Coal Council, and he also served two years on the Heritage Foundation Transition Committee for Federal Mineral Leasing.

Theodore Venners has worked with a number of American companies, serving until 2005 as Chairman and CEO of KFx Inc., later Evergreen Energy. He then cultivated business relations between China and the United States. He currently is a partner at Prometheus Asia, a China-based company that is involved in numerous industries, including clean energy, telecommunications, and real estate. Mr. Venners also plans to open a university in the United States as a place where American and Chinese executives can study the business practices of both countries.
