Is your Cheshire garden the bee’s knees? In this article we’ll look at the benefits of attracting bees and wasps to your garden, because as every gardener in Cheshire knows, pollination is hugely important. Although many see them as pests, bees, wasps, and even flies and moths are hugely beneficial to any garden. They not only help pollinate your plants, but also keep aphids and other pests at bay. There is a growing problem in the UK which is seeing the numbers of our bees dwindling, partly due to the changing climate, but mainly because of changes in agricultural land, bees are actually running out of places to claim as their natural habitat. But do not fret, there is a whole host of things we can all do help our buzzing little friends. And everyone can contribute, whether you’re a keen amateur gardener in Alderly Edge, or planning a landscaping project in Hale, there are things we can all do to keep this eco system alive and well. [[http://www.cheshiregardening.co.uk/blog Gardeners in Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Hale]] The first thing you can do is simple, let it grow, let it grow! The more trees, shrubbery and flowers you have, the better. You don’t have to go crazy with seeding and planting, wild flowers will do the job. Also having a wide variety of different plants and flowers will do the world of good for the black and yellow super critters. Try growing fruit and veg too, you won’t have to worry about pests, because your new garden editions will keep them all in check. Finally you should always be mindful of disturbing any insect nests or hives. It’s best to leave them alone, especially if they are in a secluded spot and not causing any sort of threat to you or your home.
